Kino Montréal
Artistic Direction

In 2024, Kino Montréal turned 25. Twenty-five years of saying yes to stories that don't fit the mold.
They asked me to create the visual identity for their anniversary gala. From the official poster and printed program to the projection slides, auction visuals, and post-event report. The brief was simple: make it feel like Kino. Independent, cinematic, a little rough around the edges in the best way.
I kept coming back to VHS tapes and their analog texture. But also to the countdown frames before a film begins; that moment of possibility. The final design played with circular gradients and vintage framing. A nod to where Kino came from, celebratory without losing the grit.
What I love about this project is that it sat at an intersection I care deeply about: film heritage, community, and visual storytelling. It wasn't just about making something pretty but about honoring a legacy.
Design can be about seeing what already exists and giving it form.
